I was born and raised in Blossburg, Tioga County, Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State with a degree in Business Administration in 1969. I then enrolled at the Duquesne University School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1972.
After graduation, I was hired as an associate in the firm of Cusick, Madden, Joyce, &McKay in Sharon, Pennsylvania and remained with that firm, and its successor firm, Ekker, Kuster, McConnell & Epstein, LLP to the present.
Outside of the office, my interests include gardening, history, fishing and outdoor recreation.
I belong to a number of Civic and Service Organizations including: Mercer County Historical Society; Tioga County Historical Society, Western PA Historical Society, Penn State Nittany Lion Club, Western PA Conservancy, and Duquesne University Law Alumni Club.
I concentrate my practice on commercial and residential real estate, business and industrial development and municipal law. My real estate and development practice includes the representation of property owners and private developers in real estate acquisition and land development matters.
For the past thirty years, I have served as solicitor for the City of Hermitage and the Hermitage Municipal Authority. In my municipal practice, I have represented my clients in all aspects of municipal law, including planning and development, employment law, municipal contracting, zoning and municipal financing.
I have also, past and present, represented a number of Second Class Townships, including serving as solicitor of Springfield Township from 1992 – 1997 at the time of the location and development of the Grove City Factory Shops.
From 1994 to the present, I have also served as solicitor for the Mercer County Industrial Development Authority and have represented the Authority in industrial development projects involving tax exempt financing in Mercer County and surrounding areas.
In addition, for the past 35 years, I have been counsel for the F.H. Buhl Trustees, a private charitable foundation which owns and operates Buhl Farm, a historic and unique 300plus acre recreational facility in Mercer County.
