I graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1981, earned my Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Westminster College in 1985, and earned my law degree from Boston College Law School in 1988, graduating cum laude.

Following law school, I returned to the Shenango Valley and have been practicing law here since 1989. I am currently serving the 7th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in Harrisburg. In the legislature, I serve as a member of the following committees: Commerce (chairman of the subcommittee on housing), Education, Local Government, Tourism & Recreational Development, Transportation, and Majority Policy.

Prior to my election, my law practice was concentrated on municipal law. I served as Solicitor for Mercer County, Sharon City School District, Sharpsville Area School District, Reynolds School District, Findley Township and Delaware Township. I also serviced clients in the areas of employment law, corporate and general business matters, real estate transactions, estate planning, estate administration and criminal law.

In the community, I am a member if the Sharon Rotary, Sharpsville Service Club, the Shenango Valley YMCA and the League of Women Voters. I serve as a board member of the Mental Health Association of Mercer County and on the Advisory Boards of Butler County Community College, and Laurel Technical Institute. I am a member of First Baptist Church pf Sharon where I serve as Adult Sunday School Teacher and Worship Leader.
